Incident on DNS Thursday 25th September 2025 10:44:19

Customers that are managing their DNS records via domains.belnet.be and have DNSSEC enabled, can experience a DNSSEC outage. This causes the domain to be unresolvable. We believe an unforseen DNSSEC KSK rollover caused the issue. Our supplier is investigating and looking for a fix.

DNSSEC has been enabled again for all the impacted domains.
We are closing the incident.

We are gradually enabling DNSSEC again for the impacted domain names and monitoring their status.
By Tuesday afternoon all impacted domains should be DNSSEC enabled.

The root cause of the DNSSEC issue was identified. We expect to enable DNSSEC signing again next week for the impacted domain names. Our apologies for this inconvenience.

We will disable DNSSEC for the impacted domains. This should make the impacted domains available again after DNS cache has expired.
