Fiber cut between LIEGE and BASTOGNE Wednesday 4th March 2020 09:53:00


We are currently (starting 04/03/2020 09:00) experiencing a fiber cut between LIEGE and BASTOGNE which can affect redundancy/connectivity for some of our customers. Our teams are working hard to restore full redundancy and our services should be up shortly on affected link. Belnet customers can contact our Service Desk at 02 790 33 00. The fiber has been repaired. The situation is back to normal. All alarms are cleared in our monitoring system and from Belnet side incident is now resolved. Please contact our Service Desk at 02 790 33 00 in case you should still experience any problems.

It is confirmed that the fiber cut was due to work done on a roundabout and where a construction machine tore off part of the cable. The resolution of this incident is estimated around 5:00 p.m. We will keep you informed as soon we will have news on the progress of this case.

We can confirm that we have a fiber optic cable that was torn off this morning in the Liège Sart-Tilman sector. We need to replace the cable. Our line provider is busy to replace the cable but it could take a few hour.
