Some belnet services (Cloud Storage / Compute – govroam – interfaces to Antispam Pro and Domain Name Registration) are actually degraded or unstable Sunday 27th January 2019 21:25:00


Our engineers who are on site are not yet allowed to enter the location, the police themselves have expanded the barrier/blockade to several more surrounding streets.

At the moment we have no further information about a time when our technicians can start making an inventory of the damage.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Our technicians who arrived on site were stopped by the fire brigade and the police. At the moment there is an underground fire that needs to be extinguished, possibly as a result of a high voltage explosion. There is no ETR yet, as our repair team has to wait till the police allows access to the street.

This Tuesday, 09/29/2020, an incident occurred on the infrastructure hosting the Belnet DDoS Mitigation service, resulting in service instability for all protected customers. The instability occurred between 11:40 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Belnet teams immediately intervened and managed to stabilize the situation. We are still investigating the causes of this incident. Belnet Cloud Compute is opnieuw operationeel

Gisteren hebben wij de recovery van onze diensten Belnet Cloud Storage en Cloud Compute afgerond.
Ondertussen hebben onze teams het Belnet Cloud Storage platform getest en gevalideerd. Deze test is succesvol verlopen en de dienst Cloud Storage is opnieuw operationeel.

Voor Belnet Cloud Compute zetten wij de testfase momenteel verder. In de loop van de dag zal ook deze dienst opnieuw beschikbaar zijn. Zodra dit het geval is, brengen wij u hiervan op de hoogte.
We wensen ons nogmaals te excuseren voor het ongemak dat u heeft ondervonden. Onze teams staan steeds tot uw beschikking om uw vragen te beantwoorden.

Belnet Cloud Storage est de nouveau opérationnel

Hier, nous avons terminé la récupération de nos services Belnet Cloud Storage et Cloud Compute.
Entretemps, nos équipes ont testé et validé la plateforme de Belnet Cloud Storage. Ce test s’est terminé avec succès et le service Cloud Storage est à nouveau opérationnel.
Pour ce qui concerne le Belnet Cloud Compute, nous poursuivons actuellement la phase de test. Ce service sera également disponible au cours de la journée. Dès que ce sera le cas, nous vous en tiendrons informés.

In close cooperation with external experts, our teams have continued to work on the recovery of our cloud services. The recovery has now been successfully completed. The next step is to test and validate the platforms of Belnet Cloud Storage and Cloud Compute.

We hope to have both services operational again in the course of Tuesday 5 February. As soon as the services are operational, we will inform our customers.

Our Domain Name Registration service is operational again since at 11:30. The data on our infrastructure could be restored in their totality.

FileSender is operational again. If you received a download link that you can’t open, please contact the sender. If you are not sure your file has been received by your contact person please send it again. We apologize for the inconvenience

• The recovery is still ongoing, has progressed, but takes far more time than expected. • We only have a 0,0155 % to recover but the pace for the last 4 hours was at 0,0030% / hour … if linear we would still have to wait about 5 hours • Services and access by our customers have improved and the customers impacted by the improvements were informed • Most of the Cloud Storage and the Cloud Compute instances are restored • We still can’t relaunch our Domain Name Registration but we have been able to handle some critical customer’s requests via alternate channels • As of our FileSender … we are investigating a launch of a brand new FileSender (without the stored files) to allow new transfers or reiterate existing transfers by the customer himself.

We are actually re-synchronizing the Storage Infrastructure between the 2 Datacenters. We expect to recover the full access to our Ceph back-end in the next hours (we think at least 4 to 5). We have at this time some indicators that it is going well. Where possible we have set up alternate solutions: e.g. Antispam Pro is again fully operational. Services that are fully dependent (without an alternative in a reasonable time): • Cloud Storage access (data is not lost) • Cloud Compute operations (again no loss of data) • FileSender (files are not lost) • Domain Names Registration

The Services Team is still investigating the issue in our cloud infrastructure. We do not have any ETR (Estimated Time of Repair) at the moment but we are continuing our efforts.

We are still working on our server infrastructure to stabilise our applications. We apologize for any inconveniences caused.
