Power outage PoP Namur Friday 9th July 2021 01:58:00


Due to a power outage in the Belnet PoP in Namur, several of our customers connected to this PoP have lost their connectivity to the Belnet network. Our teams are at the moment in contact with technicians on site and will continue working until the power will be restored.

At the moment one of two routers has lost both electrical circuits and is thus powered down. The other router still has an active power supply running. The optical node is also still powered by batteries. The power outage has been The current estimated time to repair is 09/07/2021 at 03h00 GMT+1. The first failures of the electrical circuit appeared in Belnet's monitoring system at 00h11.

The Belnet router has rebooted. Everything is back online. The issue is resolved. An incident report is being created for impacted cusotmer, detailing the specifics over the outage

The problem on the remaining router has been pinpointed. The machine was unable to boot from the standard devices and fell back in to a recovery mode state. We are working with support of the hardware vendor to resolve this issue. They are also -in parallell- on their way to the PoP.

Power has been restored on site. However, the main Belnet router did not came online when power returned. We are working with people on site to power cycle the machine. In parallel we are sending technicians on site with new hardware. Troubleshooting through our out-of-band connectivity has been initiated.
